I have personally known Jim for several years, and I have worked alongside him for the past three years at ArtsView Children’s Theatre in Longview, Texas.

Jim has performed in my cast for Broadway at the View fundraising productions at ArtsView for the past three years. I direct that show, and he has been a willing performer and instrumentalist. He is hard-working, kind, thorough, attentive and truly goes above and beyond what is asked of him. He is the most gifted instrumentalist and intelligent musician I’ve ever met. He is encouraging and uplifting to the staff and actors. He is the utmost professional and strives to make everyone around him better. It is rare to find someone of his character and work ethic in our current work climate.

I have also been a part of his choir at First Baptist Church, Longview. His love for his community is inspiring, and he genuinely cares for others. He works well with both adults and children. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his love for God and music radiates from within. I remember the first time I saw Jim conducting his choir and orchestra for FBC’s yearly Carols and Candles Christmas service. Having grown up in that congregation over 40 years ago, I have known every music minister during that time. Jim was a joy to watch, and it was evident that his love for the music and his heart behind the worship was unable to be contained. It was the most awe-inspiring service, and I knew I wanted the opportunity to work with him!”
